UNICO R&D Cloud

The main objective of the UNICO R&D Programmes is to reinforce research, development and innovation actions that favour the consolidation of Spain as a leader in European and national projects in cloud infrastructure, edge computing technology, semiconductors and quantum communication. The planned implementation period for this measure is the end of 2025. One of these programmes is the UNICO R&D Cloud programme, through which support will be given to Spanish companies participating in the IPCEI (Important Project of Common European Interest) on next generation cloud and edge services and infrastructures (IPCEI-CIS). Direct grants will also be awarded to public centres, foundations and universities to strengthen the R&D and innovation ecosystem around cloud computing.

The Applied Artificial Intelligence and Data Strategy 2024 grant programme aims to support projects based on the use of AI in companies in the Basque Country, which have a demonstration effect and enable the supply and demand of this technology to be activated in the Basque Country, with the aim of providing Basque companies with tools to increase their competitiveness. Similarly, support will be given to projects that focus on the strategic management of data, with the aim of facilitating and accelerating the implementation of solutions based on Artificial Intelligence. This means that priority will be given to initiatives that not only use data effectively, but also establish processes and structures that enable companies to integrate AI into their operations more quickly and efficiently. These projects will help companies make the most of their data to improve decision-making, optimise resources and develop new business opportunities. Artificial Intelligence is the heart of the Smart Industry, as it is the basis on which subjects such as Artificial Vision, Deep Learning, Data Analysis, Machine Learning and other activities of great added value for Basque companies are developed.

EUREKA - Lightweighting Projects

The national funding bodies from Austria, Belgium (Flanders & Wallonia), Canada, Chile, Estonia, France, Germany, Israel, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Portugal, South Korea, Spain and Türkiye have allocated funding for organisations collaborating on international R&D projects in the field of lightweighting. You can submit your lightweighting R&D project application for this call for projects between 29 May 2024 and 2 October 2024 at 17:00 CEST. Your project consortium must include organisations based in a minimum of two of the countries/regions listed in this call.

EIT Urban Mobility - Co-create New European Bauhaus Open Call 2025

The EIT Community New European Bauhaus (NEB) invites applicants to submit proposals for funding through its community-focused Co-create NEB Call for Proposals, which focuses on new solutions to boost the transformation of cities, rural and peri-urban areas. The purpose of the call is to support projects that allow people and communities to re-imagine communal spaces – bringing them closer to nature, building a shared sense of belonging and addressing local needs. The EIT Community NEB is especially interested in receiving applications for projects that address challenges related to climate, urban mobility, food and manufacturing. Crucially, proposals must integrate the three core NEB values of sustainability, inclusivity and aesthetics.

RESIST - Innovation in the Automotive, Transport and Mobility Ecosystem (Open Call)

This call provides financial support to European SMEs, start-ups and very-small businesses (VSBs) working in the Mobility, Transport and Automotive (MTA) ecosystem, so they can participate in Coaching and Mentoring Services (CMS). The financial support will be up to € 4.000 for CMS assessment services and up to € 7.500 for CMS feasibility services. Two types of financial support (FSTP) are offered in the frame of this Call about coaching and mentoring services (CMS): - Assessment FSTP, for assessing the current status regarding green/digital maturity of the SME, start-ups, VSB and giving advice for improvements. For max. 5 sessions within 3 months, conducted by a specific high-level expert supports, the SME, start-ups, VSB receives a financial support of maximum € 4.000 or 75% of the expert’s bill, whichever is lower. - Feasibility FSTP, for implementing a detailed analysis that considers all of the critical aspects of a proposed improvement plan, innovation project or similar, in order to determine whether this is likely to succeed. Within max. 6 months an expert conducts e.g. theoretical, lab-environment study on feasibility of implementation of a new technology, new materials, or a new approach related to the applicant’s services, products, manufacturing processes, or business models towards digital and sustainable transition. The SME, start-ups, VSB receives a financial support of maximum € 7.500 or 75% of the expert’s bill, whichever is lower.

EIT Manufacturing - Transform (Open Call)

TRANSFORM Call 2024 focuses on addressing the innovation needs of well-established companies, such as manufacturing corporates and SMEs. It aims to support manufacturing corporates and SMEs in solving industrial and innovation challenges by implementing new technologies from startups that could be further co-developed and integrated into their business operations and production. Pilot Projects for Industrial Challenges The purpose of this Call is to support pilot projects between manufacturing corporates or SMEs and startups on a specific industrial challenge. Through a structured process, the EIT Manufacturing Business Creation team will support the collaboration between corporates and SMEs with the best-fitting startup partners for further development and pilot project implementation, providing guidance, support, and financing during the pilot project. The Call has the dual goal of providing innovative solutions for the Corporates/SMEs and opening new market opportunities for startups. This Call will support startups with innovative product/service that address specific corporate and SMEs’ challenges in at least one of the following objectives set in EIT Manufacturing’s Strategic Agenda 2021-2027: Put people at the center of manufacturing. CommuniCity - Innovative solutions responding to the needs of cities and communities (Open Call)

Third open call expands across Europe Building on the success of previous rounds, this final phase of CommuniCity Open Calls expands its reach to 17 cities. In addition to the project partner cities of Helsinki, Porto, and Amsterdam, so-called replicator cities have identified their unique challenges aiming to tackle the specific needs of their communities. These replicator cities are Aarhus, Bruges, Brussels, Cuneo, London, Manchester, Matosinhos, Milazzo, Plock, Prague, Sant Boi de Llobregat, Sarajevo, The Hague and Utrecht. In total, there are 54 challenges presented, all of which are open to all eligible applicants. The application period opens on September 10th and closes on October 31st, 2024, at 17:00 CET. All applications must be submitted via the online application form and in English. Before submitting the application, applicants are advised to review the “Read this first” tips provided by the CommuniCity consortium. During this final CommuniCity Open Call round, there are four grant providers: Forum Virium Helsinki, Municipality of Amsterdam, Porto Digital, and Open and Agile Smart Cities & Communities (OASC). As a result, there are four sets of Open Call Documents, which are largely similar but may have some minor differences based on national procurement legislation.

CE - CEF Transport Alternative Fuels Infraestructure (AFIF) - call for proposal

With the goal of decarbonising transport along the TEN-T network, the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF) is a continuous funding source that supports the modernisation and renewal of Europe's alternative fuels infrastructure. Electric charging stations, hydrogen refuelling stations, and "ammonia/methanol bunkering" along the major transport corridors of the European Union are the key topics of the second CEF AFIF call, which is for 2024 and 2025. The call covers the roll-out of alternative fuels supply infrastructure for road, maritime, inland waterway and air transport. It supports recharging stations, hydrogen refuelling stations, electricity supply and ammonia and methanol bunkering facilities.
